Is it always better to know the truth, even when it hurts?

Topic #23

For me, honesty is a huge thing. I don’t like lying in any form but accept that it does happen. Unfortunately there have been times in my life where being truthful has got me no where, in fact, like many people experience, it’s caused unforeseen drama.

I wish we lived in a world where 100% honesty actually worked but there are simply times where it’s best to keep things to yourself. When it’s really that important, only you can decide how much honesty to disclose.

For me I’d like to think I could handle any honesty thrown my way, no matter how much it hurts. I want to know the truth because for me that’s the only way I would be able to move forward from it.

In answer to the topic question I don’t think it’s a yes or a no, I think it depends on the person who knows the truth and the person who’s receiving the truth. Some people can handle it, some people can’t. Some people get unnecessarily hurt from it, some people grow from it.

  1. Like you, I’ll also say it depends on the situation… Plus, one man’s definition of truth is another man’s huge lie 🙂
Oh yeah, I’m on my vampire schedule again today… even if I don’t show up as the posts arrive in my box, I will make the effort to catch up. Don’t count me out yet 🙂
    Have a great week ahead!
